Rishi Patel founded A1 Diagnostics over twenty years ago.
He has been brought up in the vehicle service trade from a young age following in his fathers’ footsteps. Rishi’s garage is based in Cardiff, Wales and services up to 75 vehicles every week.
Rishi began his remote programming and coding venture after realising a change in the industry. More vehicle components required coding to vehicles, without coding them they would not work on the vehicles they were being installed to.
Rishi went to work and designed his own diagnostics tool to code vehicle components to vehicles. Not only that but he designed the diagnostics tool in such a way that he can also code vehicle components remotely to vehicles in other garage and body shop locations.
A1 Diagnostics has gone from strength to strength. In late 2025 we were at the tenth Cardiff Business Awards ceremony. This awards bash has become a popular event for businesses in Cardiff. We were thrilled to be nominated for an award on the night under the category “Innovation Business of the Year”.
